Golf in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo

Greens fees are $94 (including cart). Caddies charge $20, and you can rent clubs. The Palma Real Golf Club (Blvd. Ixtapa s/n, Ixtapa. 755/553-1163) has an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It abuts a wildlife preserve that runs from a coconut plantation to the beach; you may glimpse a gator while you play. A round costs $67 mid-December through mid-April and $45 the rest of the year. You must use either a caddy ($18) or a cart ($32). Club rental is available.
