On the edge of the jagged Barranca de Huetitán, the city's zoo has more than 1,500 animals representing 360 species. In addition to tropical birds and big cats found in Mexico, you'll see rhinos, polar bears, camels, and other exotic creatures. There are two aviaries, a kids' zoo, and a herpetarium with 130 species of reptiles, amphibians, and fish. For 50¢ you can take a train tour of the grounds. Admission to the adjacent amusement park is $1.30.
