Guadalajara's top Italian restaurant is a bustling family place. The menu's highlights include spaghetti frutti di mare (with seafood), scaloppine alla Marsala (beef medallions with Marsala and mushrooms), and fresh garlic bread. All meals include a trip to the salad bar. Make a reservation if you're eating after 8 PM.

La Trattoria is by far the best Italian restaurant in Guadalajara. I lived just two blocks from the restaurant for a six month period in 2005, and there was never a night that the entire neighborhood wasn't filled with the cars of diners going there to eat. The entrees (I've had several)are excellent, both tasty and beautifully presented, the atmosphere is elegant and family friendly, and the service is sublime. Not bad for a neighborhood restaurant out in the suburbs (colonias) of Guadalajara. To top all of this off, it is a very reasonably-priced restaurant, so you can afford to take the family or a few friends and not break the bank doing so.
