La Bodega de Ajijic
La Bodega de Ajijic Review
Eat on a covered patio overlooking a grassy lawn and a small pool at this low-key restaurant. In addition to Mexican standards, the menu has Italian dishes such as pastas; the food here is a bit meager and overpriced. Still, service is friendly, and there's live music—ranging from Mexican pop and rock to jazz, guitar, and harp—most nights.

This restaurant, like most in Ajijic, is substandard. The atmosphere set in a gorgeous garden is fantastic, but the food is just awful.
I ordered a fish fillet. It came heavily breaded and then fried with a pile of partially frozen mashed potatoes next to it.
I guess I'm a sucker for punishment and thought I'd try the place again. A restaurant can have a bad day. This time we made the mistake of going on Karaoke night! My god, what a freak show! I ordered some sort of asian-inspired chicken dish. Completely bland and again cold.
I guess this restaurant just freezes everything and heats things up (not very well) in the microwave. God awful place.
I would only go to this place for drinks and definately not on karaoke night. -
johninajijic, from Ajijic, Mexico
I have lived in Ajijic, Mexico for 9 years now. Ajijic is an expat community in this small village. There are more than 35 restaurants here. I run a Bi Monthly Dinner group of approx 12 people. We only go to the better restaurants in Ajijic. La Bodega is one of them. Their menu is extensive with dishes ranging from Arrachara, Steak, Filet Mignon, Cordon Bleu, Chicken, Shrimp Fettucine, Salmon Fettucine, Pastas, Fish, Seafood, Shrimp any style and Thai Dishes. Our Dinner group has always had a good meal here.
Their wine and drink prices are fair. They have entertainment nightly starting at 7:00 PM with no cover charge. The restaurant has a patio garden atmosphere.
Their prices are in line or lower than other Ajijic restaurants, approx $ 90 - $ 125 pesos or about $ 7 - $ 10 USD.
