Caution

You probably won't want a car in Villahermosa or Tuxtla, as they are sprawling cities with speeding traffic, few signs, and plenty of cheap taxis. If you do drive to Villahermosa, note that the main road, Avenida Ruíz Cortines, is almost a highway; exit ramps are about 1 km (½ mi) apart, and destinations are not clearly marked.
