Chiapas and Tabasco Sights

Fodor's Review

Parque Yumká, which means "the spirit that looks after the forest" in Chontal Maya, is a nature reserve with jungle, savannah, and wetlands. Guided walking tours take you over a hanging bridge and past free-roaming endangered species such as spider monkeys, crocodiles, and native tepezcuintles (giant rodents). Boat tours allow for good bird-watching. The park is about 16 km (10 mi) east of Villahermosa.
