Dreams Riviera Cancún Review

Opened in 2010, this sprawling resort offers a wide range of activities, nice rooms with both mangrove and ocean views, and a good albeit expensive spa. Room furnishings are lustrous, from the contemporary Mexican decor to the marble bathrooms with aromatherapy whirlpools. First-floor accommodations have private plunge pools and direct beach access. By day you can enjoy volleyball, yoga, Spanish language and cooking courses, and by night, live performances, theme parties, and movies on the beach. For an extra charge, you can try windsurfing, diving, and fishing and explore cenotes. While Mom and Dad relax by the pool, kids can play at the Mayan-themed Explorer's Club, featuring a pyramid-shaped climbing wall, a planetarium theater, and nature excursions. Spa services are somewhat pricey, but north of the hotel you can get a massage on the beach for $50 an hour.
