This small inn on the beach, far from the boardwalk, is a quiet place to relax and enjoy the sand and the sun. Cabanas are simple concrete rooms with private roof decks where you watch the moon rise from the sea. The Dutch owners are often in their small restaurant with its framed photos of Frida Kahlo, Pancho Villa, Emelio Zapata, and other Mexican notables lining the walls. The restaurant serves breakfast for guests, but people who aren't staying here often shows up
between 3:30 and 8 pm for well-prepared seafood—think pineapple stuffed with shrimp. WI-FI is available in the common areas of the property.

All I have to say is that this was the best vacation we've ever been on. My boyfriend and I rented a car and stayed at the Maya Luna for one week and absolutely loved it (plus it's inexpensive for the location!). It's eco-friendly w/solar power...toilet paper can't be flushed, but who cares? (Not for people who need pampering!) The food was fantastic, the host (Carolien) is amazing and so helpful. We went scuba diving, deep sea fishing, to the
Lake of Seven Colors (WOW!). This place is away from tourists and so relaxing. I only wish I knew of more bungalows like this, so we could visit other places!
