The laid-back hub of Puerto Aventuras is a terrace café with a varied menu, including coconut shrimp and chicken with a chimichurri sauce made from red wine, garlic, onion, and fine herbs. If you and local fisherman get lucky, the nightly specials might include fresh-caught fish in garlic sauce. Cheesecakes and pies, all homemade by owner Gaylita, are delicious. There's live music and all-you-can-eat ribs on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday in high season, as well as Spanish
guitar on Thursday and Saturday.

As if it wasn't bad enough to listen to the entertainer of the night butcher Simon & Garfunkel all night, we had to endure the worst dining experience of our entire stay in Puerto Aventuras. I ordered one of the chef's specialties, Grouper Veracruz, which the waiter decribed as prepared "with tomatoes and sauteed vegetables". What actually came was tough and chewy and drowned in something straight out of a can of tomato paste with slices of lemon
(?) and onions. This dish had no flavor other than the overwhelming acidity of the tomato sauce. It was absolutely awful! Finally, my husband ordered a slice of pecan pie which turned up burnt and dry. What an awful experience! This restaurant gives its full meaning to the expression "tourist trap".

Excellent, made from scratch salsas, ceviche, and pies! Never had a bad breakfast, lunch or dinner there. We go to PA at least once a year and we have to force ourselves to eat elsewhere. On most nights you can hear dolphins singing in the background and on Wednesdays and Sundays you can hear the owner and friends singing. This is a must try restaurant!

I can't say enough about Cafe Ole! The food, atmosphere, and live music are GREAT! Don't miss out on the home-made pies...scrumptious!! Yum-Yum!
