Caribbean Coast Places

Mayakoba

Considered the "Venice" of the Caribbean, Mayakoba (meaning "village of water") is home to four of the world's most exclusive resorts. The 1,600-acre enclave supports mangrove forest, freshwater lagoons, beach dunes, and sunken cenotes. It's also home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, turtles, crocodiles, manatees, and flamingos. A network of canals connects one property to the other. Here spas are perched amid jungle treetops and boats drift between limestone waterways. This is a car-free zone, and transportation is limited to golf carts, bicycles, and thatch-roof boats.
