Framing the fairway of Pok-Ta-Pok Golf Course, this tranquil resort is comprised of 12 white-stucco buildings, each housing four spacious suites. Ideal for families, suites are equipped with kitchens, dining areas, and living rooms with 42" flat-screen TVs and pull-out couches. Centering the grounds are a sundeck, large pool, and swim-up bar from where classical music is played throughout the property. The spa is rather small, but still offers plenty of services including

juice therapy, couples' massages, and a rooftop Jacuzzi overlooking the sprawling greens. Only six of the rooms have lagoon views, and the closest beach is a 20-minute walk.

F YOU LIKE DAILY SHOWERS AND CLEAN LINEN AND TOILETS THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU

I can add very little to all the "horrible" reviews on this page. I guess it would be worth mentioning that yes, the place is a hook to get you to go to a sales presentation. That this and the other hotels in the chain are awful. None of them compare to a 5-star resort IN ANY WAY. We arrived on a Saturday and were placed in a room without hot water. After complaining for 1 hour we were moved to another room, this time WITHOUT ANY WATER AT ALL! We

were told that because of us the hotel had decided to check its system and that therefore there would be no water for a while. So now, it was our fault. I had never been to a hotel anywhere in the world that considered not having water "OK" and it to be the guests' fault! They offered instead that we relax at the reception until they fixed their water system in 30 minutes. SPOILER: The water system took 7 DAYS to fix, which was the duration of our stay. With 2 days of no water at all in sinks or toilets. Saturday night after returning from dinner we were moved to a THIRD room, this one had a water damage in the bathrooms sink, no hot water, and paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling. There was no hotel Manager present in the premises, so the hotel CHEF (!) a lovely young Mexican woman came to apologize to us and to try to explain how a radiator is fixed, when she clearly had no idea what was going on and was forced to face every angry guest. The so called "sales presentation" is a forced JOKE on the guests. They literally threaten you that if you don't go they will bill your credit card a higher hotel rate. You are shipped in a MINIVAN (classy huh?) like a crew of construction workers, after MAKING YOU show your credit cards like children to a woman at the reception that won't let you in the van if you don't carry a credit card and ID and calls you "FAMILIA," although she just met you. You are taken to see these mediocre hotels after having a breakfast that makes IHOP look like the Four Seasons. The sales people are tacky, aggressive, sound desperate, and the presentation if you are not equally rude and cut them short, like we did, go forever. TIP: My strategy was to drive the sales woman crazy (ignore everything they say, look the other way, don't smile, it drives them crazy that you don't "look" happy to be there) so she rushed through her sales pitch and could not wait to get rid of us. My parents got this through something called MEGAVACATIONS in Colombia. It's a big scam to catch innocent seniors that fall for it. I have been many times to Cancun, at small hotels WITH WATER and good service, this place however, is a poor excuse for anything resembling a hotel. Service is mediocre, linen in the rooms broken or stained, there was a closet that smelled like urine, we like to think that it was humidity and not actual urine, but frankly...the odds were against us. OH! Our transportation service couldn't wait 5 minutes for us to take us to the airport, so they left us! So there you. What a MEGA experience. You want to save money? Find another way. Buying the package to go to this hotel will cost you more time, money and energy than you think. OH YEAH! And in this time and age this "5-star jewel" has no internet service unless you sit in front of the reception surrounded by all the kids that want to play their online games or check Facebook. Try emailing work or having a private conversation on Skype! GOOD LUCK!
