Riu Caribe Review
Despite renovations in 2012, this hotel still retains some of its Mayan themes in the main lobby, like the pyramid-shape architectural design and striking stained-glass Mayan calendars on the high ceiling. All rooms above the third floor have an ocean view, and the more spacious junior suites come with a living room and terrace. Strong draws here are the huge pools lined with tall palm trees and the wide beach, which has fairly calm waters for swimming. The downside is that the sun disappears behind the hotel building at around 3 o'clock, so plan on tanning early.
