The ME takes the chic flavor of a trendy boutique hotel and blows it up to the grand scale of a large resort. The aim here is to arouse all five senses; you'll find yourself inhaling soothing scents while listening to electronic lounge music that's played everywhere, even in the elevators. This hotel oozes hipness, from the sleek black mermaid sculptures by artist Marie France Porta to the slick bars created by nightlife gurus Rande and Scott Gerber. And if you want to
literally bring a piece of ME back home with you, guest-room furnishings and artwork by Yuri Zatarain can be purchased from the on-site gallery. The hotel is especially popular with 25–40-year-olds who like to party in an upscale environment. The incredible 3,000 square foot, multi-bedroom duplex suite (which rents for $7,000 a night) was used to film Real World: Cancun, and is perfect for fashionable bachelor and bachelorette parties. Sister restaurants Salt and Silk are excellent, and the chic Red Lounge keeps an international set of revelers happy. Keep in mind that certain items in the minibar are not part of the all inclusive package (they are marked with yellow stickers). Also, pet owners take note—your furry friends are welcome here.
