Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa Review

The rooms at this all-inclusive, adults-only resort are warmly decorated with sunset colors, fruit baskets, and rich wood furnishings; some rooms even have private hot tubs. Small sitting areas open up onto balconies with ocean or lagoon views (the ocean views are better). There is however, an extra $70 per day charge for an ocean front room with a Jacuzzi. The beach is stunning and there's a comfortable pool area with deck chairs and palapas. The spa offers massages and facials, and there's an outdoor temazcal (a dome-shape sweat lodge made from volcanic rock), which the Maya believe purifies the body. There's plenty to entertain—mini golf, a casino, windsurfing equipment, scuba lessons, and a cowboy saloon—but for those not drawn to daily activities, there are newer, more modern hotels available for around the same price.
