This grande dame of Cancún restaurants delivers on the promise of its name (which means "the sweet life" in Italian). In business since 1983, this local favorite has candlelit tables and discreet waiters who will make you feel as if you've been transported to Italy. The Italian fare includes homemade pizzas and pastas such as Bolognese-style lasagna, veal ravioli, and calamari steak in shrimp and lobster sauce. The wine list is excellent, and the dessert truffle is a must for chocolate lovers. Live jazz is offered from 7 to 11 pm every day except Sunday. Be patient when waiting for your order, though, as good food takes time to prepare.

We enjoyed our meal here. The terrace is lovely at sunset.The service was attentive but discrete and the food was good,not great perhaps, but very good and worth the cost. A pleasant experience and we would return
