There are lots of ways to get your adrenaline going on the waters of Cancún. You can arrange to go parasailing (about $45 for eight minutes), waterskiing ($70 per hour), or jet skiing ($70 per hour, or $90 for Wave Runners). Paddleboats, kayaks, catamarans, and banana boats are readily available, too. Jungle boat tours, which usually last from 2 to 2½ hours are also popular. They cost around $60 per person.

El Embarcadero (Blvd. Kukulcán, Km 4, Zona Hotelera. 998/849-7343), the marina complex at Playa Linda, is the departure point for ferries to Isla Mujeres and several tour boats. Delta Tours (Playa Tortugas, Blvd. Kukulcán, Km 6.5, Zona Hotelera. 998/849-4995) has banana boats, snorkeling gear, Wave Runners, and parasails. Marina Barracuda (Blvd. Kukulcán, Km 14.1, in front of the Ritz-Carlton, Zona Hotelera. 998/885-3444),
Marina del Rey (Blvd. Kukulcán, Km 15.6, in front of Grand Oasis Cancún, Zona Hotelera. 998/885-0363) and Marina Punta del Este (Blvd. Kukulcán, Km 10.3, Zona Hotelera. 998/883-1210) all rent out Wave Runners and offer jungle tours that leave several times a day. Marina Punta del Este also has jungle tours that leave every hour from 9 AM to 3 PM. Paradise Pier (Blvd. Kukulcán, Km 12.5, Zona Hotelera. 998/885-0707 or 998/885-4030) offers a speedboat jungle tour that lasts 2½ hours.
Villa Vera Puerto Isla Mujeres (Puerto de Abrigo, Laguna Makax. 998/287-3340. www.puertoislamujeres.com) is a full-service marina for vessels up to 175 feet. Services include mooring, a fuel station, a 150-ton lift, customs assistance, hookups, 24-hour security, laundry and cleaning services, and boatyard services. If you prefer to sleep on land, the Villa Vera Puerto Isla Mujeres resort is steps away from the docks.
The shallow waters of Playa Norte make it a pleasant place to kayak. You can rent kayaks—as well as sailboats and paddleboats starting at $20 for the day—from Tarzan Water Sports located in the middle of Playa Norte.
