Visitor Information
The Baja California Sur State Tourist Office is in La Paz about a 10-minute drive north of the malecón (seaside promenade). It serves as both the state and city tourism office.
There's also an information stand on the malecón (no phone) across from Los Arcos hotel. The booth is a more convenient spot, and it can give you info on La Paz, Scammon's Lagoon, Santa Rosalía, and nearby towns. Both offices and the booth are open weekdays 9-5. Mariano Abasolo s/n, La Paz, 23004. 866/733-5272 or 612/122-5939. www.vivalapaz.com.
The excellent Baja California State Secretary of Tourism distributes information on the entire state. Baja's largest cities have tourism offices operated by different agencies.
These offices are usually open weekdays 9-7 (although some may close in early afternoon for lunch) and weekends 9-1. Some of the smaller areas don't have offices. 664/634-3367. www.discoverbajacalifornia.com.
