Loreto
Getting Here and Around
The Aeropuerto Internacional Loreto (LTO) is 7 km (4½ mi) southwest of town. Alaska Airlines flies from Los Angeles to Loreto on Thursday and Sunday; its affiliate Horizon Air does the route on Tuesday and Friday. Aereo Calafia connects Loreto with Los Cabos daily. Several airlines connect Loreto with Mexico City and other domestic airports in Mexico. Taxis from the airport into town are inexpensive (about $5) and convenient. Loreto's Terminal de Autobus sits at the entrance to town and has service from La Paz, Los Cabos, and points north. In Loreto taxis are in good supply and fares are inexpensive; it costs $5 or less to get anywhere in town and about $10 from downtown Loreto to Nopoló. Illegitimate taxis aren't a problem in this region. Don't go north from here without a full tank of gas; Pemex stations between Loreto and Guerrero Negro have been known to run out of gas on occasion.
