Guerrero Negro

Sports and the Outdoors

Malarrimo Eco-Tours offers the original whale-watching tour in Guerrero Negro. You can arrange for a tour at the Malarrimo Restaurant, but to make sure that you can get a spot, reserve in advance, especially if you want to go out on a weekend. (A 50% deposit is necessary to make the reservation.) Excursions run late December through early April. Owner Luis Enrique Achoy and his crew offer two tours daily. One leaves at 8 am and the other at 11 am. Both tours last about four hours and are a reasonable $49 per person. If the weather won't allow you to see the whales, Malarrimo will reschedule. Blvd. Zapata s/n, Guerrero Negro, Baja California Sur, 23940. 615/157-0100. www.malarrimo.com.
