When to Go

Like the American southwest, Baja California's weather is conducive to year-round travel, though "peak season" will have a different meaning for beach bums and marine-life enthusiasts. The deserts can be sweltering between May and October, and parts of the Pacific coast are chilly between November and February. Whale-watching season on the Pacific runs roughly from December to late March, and although fishing is possible all year-round, local experts consider the summer months the best time to hook a big one.
