A five-minute drive into the hills north of the Costera leads to the place where Elizabeth Taylor married Mike Todd and where Lana Turner settled for three years. This is as close as you can get to the glamour and style of Acapulco when it was Hollywood's retreat. Some villas were once private homes and have their own pools. The excellent Villa Vera Spa and Fitness Center, open to guests and nonguests, has exercise machines, free weights, milk baths, algae treatments, and massages.
