Book NowFairmont Acapulco Princess Review
The 17-story Princess lures the rich and famous (Howard Hughes once hid away in a suite here). Near the reception desk, fantastic ponds with waterfalls and a slatted bridge hint at the luxury throughout. Large, airy rooms have cane furniture, marble floors, and wireless Internet access. You can dine in six excellent restaurants, then burn off the calories in a match at the tennis center, which hosts international tournaments. The superb Willow Stream spa, open to guests and nonguests, has aromatherapy, thalassotherapy, and body wraps, plus a fitness center, Swiss showers, a hair salon, and a Jacuzzi. A shuttle runs frequently to the adjacent Pierre Marqués, where you can use all facilities.

bburgoon, from Phoenix
Big problem with the beach, which we knew nothing about until arrival. They have allowed(maybe they have no choice under Mexican law) the public to set up palapa shanties in front of the resort's oceanfront. There is a crush of people and a couple of large crumbling buildings which have apparently been abandoned. Trash everywhere(although they try to clean it up daily). And we were paying almost $300 a night for this! The beach at the Pierre Marquez is much nicer although suffers from some of the same issues. Those damn motorized "quads" are everywhere and they allow the rental business to set up shop every day right in front of the hotel on the beach! Insane!
