Built almost 60 years ago to house archaeologists working at Tikal, this lodge has 36 spacious bungalows with double beds. The 12 rooms aren't nearly as spacious. Two suites have king beds and whirlpool baths. There are whirling ceiling fans, but the generator is shut off from around 11 pm to 5 am, so you may be hot at night. If your budget allows, choose one of the bungalows or suites, rather than overpriced rooms with shared baths. The restaurant serves unremarkable
food, though in a pleasant dining room. Breakfast is included in the rates.
