Several companies run frequent shuttle buses between Guatemala City and Antigua. Adrenalina, Atitrans, and Turansa are all reputable companies. Buses leave every 15 minutes from 18 Calle and 4 Avenida in Zona 1 in Guatemala City. They depart on a similar schedule from the bus station in Antigua. It's best to call ahead for reservations, but you can also purchase tickets on board.

Adrenalina, Atitrans, and Turansa also offer service to the Western Highlands, with the cost ranging from Q100 for Chichicastenango and Panajachel to Q200 for Quetzaltenango. You can also catch a public bus at the terminal, which is cheaper but much less comfortable. There are one or two direct buses to Panajachel and Quetzaltenango each day, as well as five or six bound for Chichicastenango. Tickets cost about Q16.

Transportes Rébuli travels from Guatemala City to Panajachel hourly from 5 AM to 4 PM daily. Buses bound for Guatemala City leave Panajachel hourly from 6 AM to 3 PM daily. The 6 AM and 3 PM buses are more expensive, but they're also much more comfortable. Count on a four-hour trip.

To get to Chichicastenango and Santa Cruz del Quiché, take Veloz Quichelense, which departs from the capital on the half hour between 5 AM and 6 PM and returns on a similar schedule. For Quetzaltenango, take Galgos buses, which leave Guatemala City at 5:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 11 AM, 12:45 PM, 2:30 PM, 5 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7 PM. They depart from Quetzaltenango at 4 AM, 5 AM, 8:15 AM, 9:45 AM, 11:45 AM, 2:45 PM, and 4:45 PM. The trip takes four hours.

To travel to Huehuetenango, you can choose from several companies for the five-hour run from Guatemala City. Los Halcones has departures at 7 AM and 2 PM. Rápidos Zaculeu runs buses at 6 AM and 3 PM. Transportes Velásquez also has daily departures at the same time.

Transportes Turisticos Atitrans and Turansa have buses that travel from Antigua to towns in the Western Highlands. You can also catch a public bus at the terminal, which is cheaper but much less comfortable. The one or two direct buses to Panajachel and Quetzaltenango each day, as well as five or six bound for Chichicastenango.
