Fodor's Review:

Not many hotels have guest books filled with recommendations for specific rooms, but the ones on the 2nd floor are so good that people want to be sure to share them with others. The upstairs rooms are more expensive, but they're larger and brighter and have views of the volcanoes; all rooms are painted in washes of red and, of course, blue (azul means "blue" in Spanish). Communal-sitting rooms open onto a pleasant courtyard; breakfast is served beside the small pool. Pros: central location, nice courtyard. Con: dimly lit rooms.

The hotel has a more than usable pool with an adjoining spa (perfect with bubbles and heat for after a day on the cobble-stoned streets), beautiful inside courtyards, full breakfast with 3 choices, and sits one-half block from central plaza. I was there two separate nights in the last month while looking for language schools there and they are inexpensive and plentiful. The staff gave great instructions, great suggestions for dining and lined up any services I needed or told me where to find them. Written by a person who just filled the third to last stamp square in his passport before I replace it.
