Fodor's Review

Hidden in a forest about 5 km (3 miles) south of town, this waterfall is considerably smaller than Nauyaca Waterfalls. Off the main highway, head up the road toward Bella Vista lodge and take the first road to the right, past the new school and through a stream; follow the road straight uphill for about 300 meters (1,000 feet) to where the road widens. If the stream is too high to cross, go back to the highway and drive south to the next left turn, where there's a bus

stop, and go though a small village, over the new bridge, then turn right up the mountain for 300 meters. You can park here and climb down the steps to the river on the right, where there is a lovely swimming hole and waterfall, often populated by local kids when school is out. Pay strict attention to the posted sign that warns not to leave anything of value in your parked car.
