Dantica Lodge and Gallery Review

High style at high altitude, this avant-garde lodge clinging to the side of a mountain has unbeatable valley views, great bird-watching, and luxury accommodations. Spacious white-stucco casitas with two bedrooms and baths are perfect for families. Hidden away in a forest clearing, they provide the ultimate in seclusion and close-to-nature experiences. Consider the honeymoon hideaway, with a sunken whirlpool tub big enough for two, a private garden, and a forest trail. All have living rooms with huge picture windows, private terraces, and ethanol-fueled fireplaces, along with fluffy duvets. Some also have kitchenettes. Mixing modern European style with Latin American antiques, the Dutch/Colombian owners have an unerring eye for style, reflected in their stunning, glassed-in gallery of interesting artesanía (arts and crafts). Even if you don't stay here, enjoy a hearty breakfast, light lunch, or excellent dinner served on exquisite china in the glass-walled, elegant restaurant with a heart-stopping view. An organic herb garden spices up the sophisticated menu. Be sure to make reservations for dinner.
