Fodor's Review

High style at high altitude, this avant-garde lodge clinging to the side of a mountain has unbeatable valley views, great bird-watching, luxury accommodations, and the top ecological sustainability rating. Spacious white-stucco bungalows with two bedrooms and two bathrooms are perfect for families. Hidden away in a forest clearing, they provide the ultimate in seclusion and close-to-nature experiences. Consider the honeymoon hideaway, a suite with a sunken whirlpool tub

big enough for two, a private garden, and a forest trail. All accommodations have living rooms with huge picture windows, private terraces, and ethanol-fueled fireplaces, as well as fluffy duvets for cold nights. Some also have kitchenettes. Mixing modern European style with Latin American antiques, the Dutch Colombian owners have an unerring eye for style, reflected in their stunning, glassed-in gallery of interesting artesanía (arts and crafts). Even if you don't stay here, enjoy a hearty breakfast, light lunch, or excellent dinner served on exquisite china in the glass-walled, elegant restaurant with a heart-stopping view. An organic herb garden spices up the sophisticated menu. Be sure to make reservations for dinner.
