The Osa Peninsula and the South Pacific Sights

Playa Cacao

Fodor's Review

Golfito doesn't have a beach of its own, but Playa Cacao is a mere five-minute boat ride across the bay. It's not the prettiest beach, but it has a picturesque view of boats bobbing in Golfito Bay. The fastest way to get here is to hire a boat at the city dock or from a mooring opposite the cruise-ship dock. Playa Cacao has two casual restaurants and one collection of basic cabinas, but it makes a cooler, quieter option when the heat and noise in Golfito get unbearable,

and it's a good putting-in spot for kayaks. Amenities: food and drink. Best for: walking.
