Playa Cacao Review
Golfito doesn't have a beach of its own, but Playa Cacao is a mere five-minute boat ride across the bay from town. Hire a boat at the city dock or from a mooring opposite the larger cruise-ship dock, north of Golfito's center. Playa Cacao has two casual restaurants and one collection of basic cabinas, but it makes a cooler, quieter option when the heat and noise in Golfito get unbearable, and it is a good putting-in spot for kayaks.
