Fodor's Review

Just south of town on the water's edge, this hotel has wonderful views over the inner gulf. Upgrades include new wood furniture; updated tiled bathrooms, some with stylish vessel sinks; mini-fridges; and flat-screened TVs. Rooms are on the small side but they do have high ceilings and a veranda with a bench to enjoy views of the well-tended tropical gardens and the shimmering gulf beyond. Rooms 12 to 16 are slightly larger. A pleasant open-air restaurant with moderately-priced

food looks onto the large pool, whose terrace is barely divided from the gulf waters. There is no beach here but there is a long boat dock. The hotel owners have an impressive collection of local art brightening the walls. The restaurant has an extensive wine and cocktail list, and the weekend barbecue buffets ($20) in high season are the best deal in town. Continental breakfast is now included in the rate.
