Shopping in Costa Rica will seem blissfully low-key, especially if you've earned your stripes in places with high-pressure sales pestering, such as Mexico and Jamaica. Vendors will ask, "¿En qué puedo servirle?" ("How can I help you?"), as you walk by their stands, but if you're just looking, a simple "No gracias" ("No, thank you") reply suffices to be left alone. Prices are fixed, but fair. There's no haggling here.
