West of Downtown

Paseo Colón, one of San José's major boulevards, heads due west from downtown and leads to vast La Sabana park, the city's largest parcel of green space. La Sabana anchors the even vaster west side of the city. A block or two off its exhaust-ridden avenues are quiet residential streets, and you'll find the U.S., Canadian, and British embassies here.
