Vishnu
Vishnu Review
"Haciendo un nuevo mundo," proudly proclaims the sign at the door. "Making a new world" might be a bit ambitious for a restaurant goal, but Vishnu takes its vegetarian offerings seriously. The dining area looks institutional—you'll sit at a sterile booth with Formica tables and gaze at posters of fruit on the walls—but the attraction is the inexpensive macrobiotic food. A yummy, good-value bet is usually the plato del día (soup, beverage, and dessert), but the menu also includes soy burgers, salads, fresh fruit juices, and a yogurt smoothie called morir soñando (literally, "to die dreaming").

Elephant, from Curridibat, Costa Rica
I have visited two different Vishnu's in Costa Rica (one in Heredia and one in San Jose - there is at least one other in Zapote) and both were in need of some serious interior decorating. The food is OK but there are better vegetarian places in San Jose.

joek, from Australia
The food is not worth trying but the bread and other baked goods are really nice, considering the few veggan options available in San Jose
