This wonderfully minimalist space is perfect as the country's premier modern-art venue. The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (or MADC, as it's known around town) hosts changing exhibits by artists and designers from all over Latin America. You can arrange for a guided visit with a couple of days' notice. The museum occupies part of a government-office complex in the Centro Nacional de la Cultura.
