Some 100 souvenir vendors congregate in the block-long covered walkway known as the Calle Nacional de Artesanía y Pintura, and offer some real bargains in hammocks, wood carvings, and clothing. In a perpetual tug-of-war, the city proposes moving the stalls to a less visible location at Avenida 4 and Calle 7. The vendors balk and the city relents, only to have dispute come up again a few months later.
