Posada del Museo Review

Painted a pretty shade of green, this wooden Victorian-style house dating from 1928 is a great place to stay if you're bound for San José's museums (hence the name). It's diagonally across the street from the Museo Nacional. Each room is individually decorated, but the friendly Argentine owners have maintained the original tiles, wooden double doors, and artfully painted ceilings throughout. The hallway on the second floor overlooks the two-story lobby from what the owners call their "Romeo and Juliet balcony."

    Perfect for us!

If you only like luxury hotels or want a hotel that could just as easily be in Cleveland as Costa Rica, this is not the best hotel for you.
It was perfect for my fiance and I because it was clean, charming and centrally-located to the city center, the museums, and excellent restaurants.
The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. With the help of the owner we were able to plan the day trips we wanted to make to areas outside the city of San Jose.
