Our Lady of the Angels Basilica (Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Angeles) is a hodgepodge of architectural styles from Byzantine to Baroque, with a dash of Gothic. The interior is even more striking, with a colorful tile floor, intricately decorated wood columns, and lots of stained glass. The church is open daily 6 AM to 6 PM. The basilica is also the focus of an annual pilgrimage to celebrate the appearance of La Negrita, or the Black Virgin, Costa Rica's patron saint.
