Near the top of the hill, with a sweeping view of the sea and jungle, pirate-themed "Red Beard" is one of this town's oldest and most popular restaurants. Hardwoods furnish the open-air brick-floored dining room. The view, which is most impressive at sunset and equally good from any seat in the house, compensates for the sparse decor. Tasty sandwiches are on the lunch menu; the most popular dinner plates are the seared ginger-soy tuna, wahoo with mushrooms, and grilled mahimahi. The bar fills up for a happy hour lighted by crepuscular colors.

great sunset views and friendly service, but inconsistent food -- lots of great sushi...tuna tartar is outstanding; pasta dishes are bland; mahi mahi tasted fishy. There are bett er choices for the money.
