$$$$, Drake Bay
Fodor's Review:
This hilltop jungle lodge has it all: a prime location on the edge of Corcovado National Park, resident naturalists, luxury accommodations, and first-class service and food. Spanish colonial-style cabinas are spread around a garden for maximum privacy. Guest rooms have elegant furniture, four-poster beds, and huge tile bathrooms. There is laundry service for an extra charge. The sunset margarita bar at the top of hill has excellent views. A tractor-towed cart transports guests and luggage. The restaurant serves upscale dinners and packs picnic lunches. The minimum stay is two nights, but the best deal is a three-night package that includes transportation from San José, all meals, and a trip to Caño Island and Corcovado National Park.
