Fodor's Review:

The best view in town -- a sweeping panorama of verdant hills, the aquamarine ocean, and offshore islands -- is Mariposa's claim to fame. Accommodations range from standard rooms overlooking the rain forest to bright suites with ocean-view balconies to a penthouse. All are spacious, with hand-carved furniture and large baths, and are located in a series of buildings between the jungle and gardens ablaze with colorful flowers. The white four-story main building with external spiraling stairways on both sides holds the lobby, restaurant, pools, and suites, which have semiprivate balconies. Transportation is provided to the beach, about 2 1/2 mi away.

Small and Pricey

Posted by JCinSanDiego from California on 4/10/07
I really expected more for the very high price of our room. The view was excellent and really couldn't get much better. Our room was small with a tiny bathroom. Our ceiling leaked every time our upstairs neighbor showered and the staff wasn't too interested in correcting the problem. The location was nice and we did see monkeys from our our room but it is a bit far from the beach.
