Dolphin fans will flip over this lodge devoted to marine mammals. Six wooden cabins with dolphin decorations in every nook and cranny are set in a hilly garden by the ocean. Meals are tasty vegetarian fare, with some fish but no shrimp served. (Shrimp boats are the bane of maritime environmentalists.) The open-air dining room is spacious but can be buggy. The highlight of a visit here is a marine biologist-guided boat tour in search of whales and dolphins. The lodge is open during rainy season, the best time to see humpback whales. Boat tours are pricey at almost $100 per person; some of the fee goes to a dolphin research and conservation foundation. On land, there's hiking and birding. Kids under 12 are half-price for lodging and dolphin tours.
