Five years in the making, Parque Reptilandia is an impressive reptile house with more than 150 specimens of snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles, and other creatures in terrariums and large enclosures. You can even catch a glimpse of Central America's only Komodo dragon. Kids love the maternity ward showcasing newborn snakes. More mature snakes live under a retractable roof that lets in sun and rain. They become much more active when it rains, so this is a great rainy-day-at-the-beach alternative activity. Night tours ($12) can also be arranged to watch nocturnal animals at work. If you're not squeamish, feeding day is Friday.
