Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría

  • Address: 16 km/10 mi northwest of downtown San José, just outside Alajuela, San José

Fodor's Review:

Café Britt operates souvenir shops Casa Tica, El Cafetal, and Morpho in the Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría for those last-minute purchases. Choose from Britt coffee ($5 per pound)—the only brand sold here—and a terrific selection of good-quality merchandise, such as hand-carved bowls and jewelry, aromatherapy candles, banana-paper stationery, and Costa Rica travel books. (Selection is slightly different in each.) There's nary another store in the country carrying such a variety all in one place. The catch is that the shop charges U.S. prices for this luxury.
