Monteverde Coffee Tour

Fodor's Review:

Bite your tongue before requesting Costa Rica's ubiquitous Café Britt up here. Export-quality Café Monteverde is the locally grown product. The Monteverde Coffee Tour lets you see the process up close from start to finish, from shade growing on the area's Turín plantation, 7 km (4 mi) north of Santa Elena; transport to the beneficio, the processing mill where the beans are washed and dried; and finally to the roaster. Reservations are required, and pickup is from area hotels.

  • Cost: $25
  • Open: Tours at 8 AM and 1 PM
