Playa Negra

Fodor's Review:

Surfer culture is apparent here in the wave of beach-shack surfer camps along the beach road. But there's also a big residential development here called Rancho Playa Negra, with more upscale development on the drawing boards. The beach is rocky and, true to its name, has very dark, hard-packed sand. Spindly mangrove trees edge the beach and there are views north of the wavy coastline.
