Playa Hermosa's original bar, the North American-style Backyard has two seating areas, each with its own bar. Television sets on the wraparound bar show sports matches and surf videos. A wooden deck overlooking the beach gets great sea breezes. The usual bar food—pizza, burgers, and sandwiches—is complemented by local seafood, including ceviche and peel-and-eat shrimp. It's a popular nightspot, especially on Saturday, when there's live music.
