A full-fledged nature center a few miles north of Cahuita and well worth a stop,

Aviarios del Caribe (Aviaries of the Caribbean) has dense gardens that have attracted over 300 bird species. Proceeds go to goodhearted owners Judy and Luis Arroyo's sloth rescue center on the premises. Buttercup, the very first of their charges, holds court in the nature-focused gift shop.
