Piedras Blancas National Park has some great birding. The park is covered in verdant forest and is home to many species of endemic plants and animals. It's an important wildlife corridor because it connects to Corcovado National Park, and it's one of the few places in Costa Rica where jaguars still thrive. Follow the main road northwest through the old American Zone, past the airstrip and a housing project: the place where a dirt road heads into the rain forest is ground zero for bird-watchers.
