Fodor's Review:

Jürgen's is a common haunt for politicos, and San José's elites meet to eat here. Decorated in gold and terra-cotta with leather and wood accents, the dining room of this contemporary restaurant feels more like a lounge than a fine restaurant. In fact, the classy bar, with a large selection of good wine and good cigars, is a prominent feature. The inventive menu, with such delicacies as medallions of roast duck and tuna fillet encrusted with sesame seeds, sets this place apart from the city's more traditional venues.

One of Costa Rica's more expensive restaurants, Jurgen's offers consistently delicious meals and always attentive service. Of particular note is that in addition to an appealing regular menu, the restaurant offers 6 or so inventive appetizers and main courses, plus one dessert, on a special menu that changes every month. This kind of creative variety is rare in Costa Rica. I've eaten here dozens of times and have never been disappointed.
