Butterflies, frogs, and snakes have their own Monteverde-area exhibits, and bats get equal time with guided tours that provide insight into the life of one of the planet's most misunderstood mammals. Admission includes a 45-minute guided tour. An adjoining museum documents the history of the region, in particular, its early settlement by the Quakers.

Took our three college age sons to see this one of a kind bat jungle. It might have been one of the best things on our vacation. A hidden jewel. We learned so much from the knowledgeable guide, dispelling all the old bat myths...they are not blind or dangerous or scary at all. We watched our guide walk into the bat cave with 85 bats flying around and he fed them and held them. Don't miss this great, inexpensive one hour experience!
