Fodor's Review

Formerly the Volcano Brewing Company Hotel, this property overlooking Lake Arenal has large rooms with natural wood ceilings and some nice perks that include its own on-site microbrewery. Other amenities are a swimming pool, tennis courts, a spa, and skate park. Rooms are basic with painted cement floors and local artwork, and a few even have tiny fireplaces. The glass-walled restaurant dishes up pasta and seafood, with dairy and produce coming straight from their farm.

This place caters to university students so if you're looking for peace and quiet, you might want to stay elsewhere. The hotel has changed ownership several times over the past decade, causing many people to refer to it by previous names like Hotel Tilawa, Lakeview Hotel, and Volcano Brewing Company Hotel.
